How has COVID-19 impacted mental health?
How has Covid-19 impacted mental health? Overall, Covid-19 has negatively impacted the mental health of children all over the world. Now, I know what you might be thinking: How could she possibly have knowledge regarding the mental health of children across America, and even the world? Let me give you a simple answer: a great deal of research. Although much of my blog is informed by research, a large portion of it also comes from my own experiences as a high schooler living through the pandemic.
Even under normal circumstances, dealing with mental health as a child is exceptionally hard. Self-awareness of one’s own mental well-being doesn’t always come easily. On top of that, getting your parents to understand the sincerity of your issues is no small task either. These challenges have only been exacerbated by the pandemic.
In this blog, I will discuss Covid-19 and its impacts on the mental health of children with a particular focus on many important factors. These include: changes in screen time, increased cases of domestic and child abuse, online schooling, widespread economic hardships, and social isolation. I will also provide information regarding the mental health of children with pre-existing conditions and special needs.
